Spring 2014 Golden Griffin Recipients

Margie Cook

Department: Student Leadership Development
Recipient: January 2014
Core Value: Respect - Margie has devoted so much time and energy to leading a team of colleagues to coordinate meetings and a town hall to allow our community to engage in a very important conversation about respect, resulting from the "Sigma Chi email" incident.  In everything she has done to help lead this effort, from facilitating an initial meeting of students and administrators, to coordinating faculty/staff/student facilitators for the town hall, and to promoting the town hall (among other things), Margie has demonstrated the highest level of our Student Affairs values, including professional excellence, collaboration, inclusion, student centeredness, and most importantly respect.

Anne Arseneau

Department: Student Leadership Development
Recipient:  March 2014
Core Value: Celebration - From Wine & Design to Saturday morning running clubs to thoughtful notes left on colleagues’ doors, Anne exudes the spirit of celebration within our division.  She has an uncanny ability to recognize individual successes and is truly appreciative of all of the work we do.  Because of her enthusiasm and persistence, Anne has transformed the way the Office of Student Leadership Development approaches their work and daily interactions with students and staff.  She encourages the heart and strengthens connections, making William & Mary a better place to work and play every day!
