Even through chilly winds and rain, campus is blooming into spring. I’ve been reminded of the young boy in Frances Hodgson Burnet’s The Secret Garden who asks, “Is this spring coming? What is it like?” His companion responds, "It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine, and things pushing up and working under the earth.”
As we approach the end of the fall semester and the calendar year, I share operational updates, a personnel announcement and a look ahead for 2023.
As we complete another fiscal year, I write to provide an update on our initiatives and teams committed to advancing operational effectiveness and ensuring the university delivers on its mission optimally.
I often focus my quarterly campus updates on the university’s financial position. Although the Provost and I continue to work on securing the long-range financial sustainability of the campus, this fiscal year is proving to be much more predictable and stable than the challenges we faced a year ago. So, I write today to provide an update on our campus facilities and infrastructure.
As we approach the halfway mark of the fall semester, I write with a financial recap of FY21 and a look ahead for FY22 and beyond. I also write with an update on our leave policy as we approach the next calendar year.
I write today with operational and financial updates, as we look to the end of the semester as well as the fiscal year.
As we close in on the midpoint of the spring semester, I write to provide an update on William & Mary’s financial position in the current fiscal year (FY21), what we know today about FY22 and the early word on a General Assembly budget that includes proposed salary increases. (Please stay tuned regarding updates on the latter. We will be providing details to you once we have information.)
