Annie Williams

Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History

Anne Williams, Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History, received her Ph.D. in History of Art and Architecture from the University of Virginia. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research focuses on medieval satire and its function in veneration and on the intersections of humor, religion and censorship. Her teaching responsibilities will include courses in Early Christian, Byzantine and Medieval Art as well as surveys of art history from the prehistoric to the present.
