Daniel Johnson

Visiting Assistant Professor of Japanese Studies

Background

Daniel Johnson, Visiting Assistant Professor of Japanese Studies, received his Ph.D. jointly in Cinema and Media Studies and East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago. His research focuses on such issues as stardom, gender, the voice, and space and place in Japanese literature, cinema, anime, games, and other media. He has previously held positions at Union College, the University of California Riverside, and New York University. At William & Mary, Daniel will teach courses on Japanese modern literature and cinema.
