Adela Amaral

Assistant Professor of Anthropology

Adela Amaral, Assistant Professor of Anthropology, obtained her Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago, then served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research interests include historical anthropology and archaeology, material ethnographies, colonialism, the Afro-Atlantic world, black slavery, and marronage. This fall, she will teach courses on the historical archaeology and ethnography of Latin America, colonialism, and slavery.
