Institutional Accreditation & Effectiveness
The Office of Institutional Accreditation & Effectiveness (IAE), a division of the Office of the Provost, oversees compliance with regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), academic program and organizational change policies of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), and requirements regarding state authorization and professional licensure disclosures. As part of these responsibilities, IAE manages a rigorous academic assessment program and W&M’s institutional change process. IAE supports, coordinates, and advances evidence-based planning and decision-making that reinforce the university's mission and enhances the high quality of a W&M education.
