Young Shakespeare Camps

In 2008 the VSF will provide three camps for young actors wishing to learn about the production of Shakespeare's plays.

Our staff Camp Directors April Wolfe and Billy Finn will guide young people ages 9-17 through the playing of Shakespeare's language, the choreography of stage combat, and the demands of period costuming.

Each camp lasts one week and culminates in a performance of an abridged version of a Shakespeare comedy in the Studio Theatre (new, improved location this year) for the final afternoon of camp.

The cost is $170 per camper.  You can sign up by calling our office at 757-221-2683 after February 15, 2008.

  • July 14-18 (ages 9-11) (This week is now sold out)
  • July 21-25 (ages 12-14)  (This week is now sold out)
  • July 28 to Aug. 1 (ages 14-17) (This week is also now sold out)
Camp Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 4 pm
Friday, 9 am to 5:30 pm (curtain at 4 pm)

Location

All camp activities take place in the Studio Theatre at Phi Beta Kappa Hall on the William & Mary campus.
