Mother Huckers News · 6/27/08 - Yay summer! Hope everyone is playing in summer leagues and having fun! If not, then don’t forget to throw, or else you will forget. Ps - We did go to Regionals in April and we played really well against Davidson, Florida, and Richmond! Great season everyone! · 4/15/08 - College Sectionals took place last weekend in Knoxville, TN and WM got THIRD place, guaranteeing a spot at Regionals!! This is the first time we have made it to Regionals since 2005! Our record last weekend overall was 5-3, with big wins against Tennessee, JMU, Mary Washington, VCU, and Tenn. Chattanooga. Only one month until Nationals in Boulder, Stanford better watch out! ;) · 4/4/08 - The Mother Huckers had an impressive showing last weekend at Roll Call in Maryland. Our overall record was 6-2, losing one game Saturday and the Chumpionship game on Sunday to UMass. The team played incredibly well together, with great performances by everyone in attendance! For more results and scores see our UPA page in the links section. · 3/12/08 - Back to real life, the greatness of Spring Break is over. Last week was one for the history books, our overall record including High Tide and Huck of the Irish coming to 6-5. Everyone played A LOT of Ultimate and you could see the improvement by the end of the week!! Brief recap of High Tide: Awesome and ridiculous week. Brief recap of Huck of the Irish: Rain, cow pastures, burrs... · 2/27/08 - Last weekend WM competed in JMU’s Hellfish Bonanza! (2-5) It was our first spring tournament and we came out a little bit rusty on Saturday morning but managed to rally and overall play some good Ultimate. Our zone defense looked stellar and we managed some great play against a few nationally ranked teams. We also won the tournament “festivity” award, showing everyone our true Ultimate spirit and practicing the Way of The Frisbee Mother Hucker style. |
