The new year for fundraising for St. Jude Children's Hospital has begun! The College of William and Mary is proud to announce its sixth year of Up 'til Dawn, a student-led, campus-wide organization that raises money for St. Jude. This year, the fundraising will culminate in an all-night celebration filled with games, food, and entertainment, to be held in early November. Last year, William and Mary raised over $40,000 for St. Jude's. This year, our goal is $45,000-- which we hope to surpass, with the help of our community and sponsors like you.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was founded by the late-entertainer Danny Thomas. It is the world's leading research and treatment center for terminal childhood diseases and is supported primarily through public contributions. Since it opened in 1962, St. Jude has treated over 20,000 children from across the United States and 60 foreign countries at no charge. With an operating cost of $1.2 million per day, fundraising efforts are vital to the success and continuation of the hospital. Treatments are expensive, but fortunately, the hospital treats patients without regard to religion, race, or ability to pay.
The money Up 'til Dawn raises will enable St. Jude to continue its research for cures for canter and other catastrophic childhood diseases. With your help, we are working toward the day when Danny Thomas's dream- that no child shall die in the dawn of life- become a reality.
We are searching for raffle prizes and other donations to facilitate fundraising and encourage participation in Up 'til Dawn, and every little bit helps! By donating this year, your company will receive year-long recognition, including banners, posters, and your logo on the Up 'til Dawn t-shirt. In addition to exposure to students on campus, your company will be visible to the community at large. This is an excellent marketing opportunity, and all donations are tax deductible.
The support from national and local businesses helps student-run philanthropies thrive.
