| The 2004 competition season wThe 2006 competition season for the Mermettes was a very successful one. Swimmers were required to come back from winter break early for a week of intense practices. The 2006 season was kicked off by the William & Mary Invitational, where the Mermettes were awarded 1st place in all but one of the routine categories, defeating many of our local rivals. The Mermettes placed 4th overall at our Regional Championship against many of the highest ranked teams in the nation. In the middle of March, the Mermettes traveled to Keuka, NY, braving the snow and ice, for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship. For the first time in close to a decade, the Mermettes placed 3rd overall at ECACs, an exciting feat and a great preparation for the upcoming Collegiate National Competition! The Mermettes traveled across the country--to Palo Alto, CA--for the National Championships. To top off an already victorious season, the Gold team, made up of advanced swimmers, placed 10th in the team routine competition--the highest placement to date! The Green team, made up of novice swimmers, also had a great meet and defeated many local rivals. |
