AUDITION INFORMATION

Tuesday, August 26-Friday, August 29, 2008

Membership in the Williams & Mary Symphony Orchestra is open by audition to all members of the William & Mary community. All new and returning members are required to audition.

Sign-up sheets will be available on the Orchestra Board next to Ewell Room 207 starting the week of August 18th.

Auditions will be held in the Ewell Recital Hall.

Each audition will last no more than 10 minutes and consist of:

• Two contrasting excerpts of your choice from solo or ensemble repertoire, totalling about five minutes or less. (Percussionists: at least one should be on timpani.)

• One short excerpt for an auxiliary instrument, if any (piccolo, bass/E-flat clarinet, English horn, etc.)

• One short sightreading excerpt

Results will be announced by the first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 2.
