The Monitor


The Monitor is the journal of international studies at the College of William and Mary.

We publish undergraduate papers from a broad range of academic disciplines including, but not limited to: religion, history, sociology, anthropology, government, linguistics, international studies, international relations, and modern languages.

Any work of scholarship that contributes to an understanding of the world or its peoples can be contributed to the Monitor.

International Interviews Are Here!

The Monitor is proud to present the first three interviews in the International Interviews Series. With the help of the Reves Center and William and Mary Faculty, the Monitor conducted interviews with international community leaders Peter Katzenstein, Andrei Markovits, John Prendergast, and Adam Shapiro. The Monitor will continue to interview government officials, professors, international civil servants, and leaders of NGOs to get candid answers about the international scene. Look for more exciting interviews to be posted on the website in the near future. Check out the current interviews!

A successful year of the Monitor!

We have now published the second exciting issue of the newly revived Monitor!  Look for hardcopy journals around campus or read all the articles from the print edition on our current issue page!  You too have the chance to join the ranks of the authors published in the Monitor.  Check out the details below...

Want to be a published author?

The deadline has passed for our Spring issue, but you can go ahead and submit articles for consideration in our Fall 2008 issue.  If you have any papers that you are particularly proud of, we just might publish them! We are looking for academic papers that focus on international issues be they within foreign countries or between countries. please see our submissions page.
