The College of William and Mary International Relations Club

Our Director of Finance is Bryan Callaway. He is responsible for all of our financial matters and has access to our bank accounts. He also is responsible for collecting dues and conference fees. Listed below are dues and conference fees information from the 2006/2007 Academic Year. We will update this information once the Board determines any necessary changes for the year:

a) IR Club Dues

$30 dollars for all members now. Dues are necessary to attend MUN conferences, vote on IR Club issues, and attend most on campus events, including World Quest and the end of the year Banquet. We accept cash or check, make checks payable to the W&M International Relations Club. You can mail checks (ONLY CHECKS) to CSU 6046, include your name as well. You must pay dues to attend NCSC.

b)Conference Fees

Methods of Payment: Cash: self explanatory (clean, non-sequential, unmarked bills would be preferred, as they are easier to make disappear).

Check: Make all checks payable to: W&M International Relations Club. You may also mail your check to CSU 6046.

Credit Card: You may pay for any conference by credit card through PayPal. If you choose this option, the conference fees increase by $5 (to $155 and $130, respectively) due to a transaction fee charged to us by PayPal. If you decide to pay by this method, come see me and I will give you step-by-step instructions on how to do so.

Blind Attendance Policy: THE IR CLUB HAS A BLIND FINANCIAL POLICY WITH REGARDS TO CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE! If you cannot afford to attend a conference, or do not have the money at this time, COME TALK TO ME. WE WILL WORK SOMETHING OUT. We have methods of deferring payment, setting up payment plans, and subsidizing part or all of the conference fees. Don't be embarrassed to check into these options, your name will be kept confidential. Don't let finances prevent you from attending MUN conferences.

YOU MUST BE A DUES PAID MEMBER TO ATTEND ANY CONFERENCE!

Refund Policy: The club incurs a great deal of upfront costs with regard to conferences. Delegate registration, hotel fees, transportation costs, etc, must all be reserved or paid for well before the conference. Most of these expenses are non-refundable to us.

We have had many last-minute drops in previous years. This detracts from the overall benefit of the club, as it not only wastes money that could be going toward other activities/decrease of conference fees, but it also gives our school a bad name at conferences where we are then forced to leave positions (usually of important countries) unrepresented.

Last year, we instituted a policy that helped to greatly curb last-minute drops. We have decided to continue this policy through this year as well.

THEREFORE: $75 of all conference fees are non-refundable without written documentation of some medical illness, or unforeseeable emergency.
