History

DoubleTake was founded as a co-ed jazz a cappella group at the College of William and Mary in 1993.  Since then, we have expanded our repertoire considerably to include a variety of styles, with songs ranging from the golden oldies to arrangements of today's popular hits.

"DT," as the group is lovingly referred to by its sixteen committed members, performs several major concerts on campus each semester, embarks upon an exhilirating fall tour each October, and constantly records new tracks for upcoming CDs.

Most years, DoubleTake also participates in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella.  Out of over 600 competing groups each year, DoubleTake consistently ranks among the best ensembles, and frequently brings home specialized awards. In 2000 and 2001, DoubleTake competed in the ICCA Championship at Lincoln Center. In 2007, DoubleTake advanced to the regional semifinals, where Audrey Suarez received the award for "Best Solo." Ever hard working, the greatest reward for DoubleTake is--and always has been--the support of their loyal fans, for whom they strive to deliver the most entertaining blend of a cappella and showmanship possible.
