Recyclemania is an 8-week competition, February 5 - April 1, among hundreds of colleges across the US and Canada. Millions of students compete each year to see who can take the title and recycle the most. Last year W&M placed 2nd in many categories. This year, help us top the competition!

Each year William & Mary enters RecycleMania to compete with other colleges to see who can recycle the most! Help the Office of Sustainability achieve our recycling goals by recycling in your daily life and attending the unique recylcables drop off--more details below!

RecycleMania on the Terrace
Bring your recyclables to the Sadler Terrace on March 23, 2017 from 11-2pm! Drop off your recyclables and learn about what W&M diverts from the landfill and how you can recycle all year long.
Sustainability is partnering with Environment, Health & Safety, Student Environmental Action Coalition, Dining Services, Campus Recreation, Bike Alliance, Facilities Management, and Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity to collect recylables.

We will collect: 
  • small and large electronics 
  • mercury-containing items
  • batteries 
  • used equipment oil
  • ink jet cartridges 
  • old reusable bottles 
  • light bulbs
  • shoes
  • plastic bags
  • compost
  • prescription glasses
  • typical blue bin recyclables
  • food waste
  • scrap metal
