SUNDAY – Welcome to Earth Week
Commons Dining Hall & KelRae Farm, April 15, 3-8pm | Follow this event on Facebook
Kick-off Earth Week 2017 with an introduction to sustainability, composting tour of Commons Dining, and a visit to KelRae Farm! Farm visit will include outdoor hands-on activities, please dress appropriately, and bring a water bottle! Casual dinner provided. Saturday, April 15, begins at 3pm in Commons Dining, vans for KelRae leave at 3:40pm and will return to the campus by 8pm. Join the Tribe Adventure Program for a Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop on the Crim Dell Meadow, April 17th from 12-3pm. If you enjoy spending time outside you can learn principles to reduce your impact on the natural world. These seven principles focus on people, lands, collaboration, and sustainability. Help keep our campus clean! The Williamsburg and W&M community is invited to beautify the campus in this Earth Week event. Volunteers will gather on the Sadler Terrace, where groups will be directed to a designated area. Please wear weather appropriate and comfortable clothing. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. TUESDAY – Sustainability and Wellness

Come learn about and enjoy the soothing capabilities of meditation labyrinths from 2 to 3 in Little Theater, Campus Center. Then join counselor Becca Marcus in the Crim Dell Meadow for a mindfulness walk through the paths of the Crim Dell from 3:30 to 4 pm. Enjoy a free, fresh-air yoga session and a hands-on approach to understand the connection between sustainability and wellness. Interested in a career in the sustainability field? Then come learn how to take pollution down to zero with W&M environmental alumni from Washington, DC! Network with alumni specializing in environmental science, policy, and beyond while discussing relevant topics and best practices for finding work in their fields. This speed networking session will allow students to hone their networking skills while making key contacts in the environmental field. A mingling session with refreshments will follow. This event, open to W&M students, is a collaboration between W&M Sustainability and the W&M Washington Center. Online registration is required.

Cap off Earth Week at a family friendly festival; enjoy the live music, butterfly tent, mini-talks with monarch butterfly expert Lincoln Brower, documentary screening, information fair, face-painting, W&M Greenhouse tours, food and more! W&M president, Taylor Reveley, will read the Lorax at 11:30am (TIME CHANGE). This W&M Sustainability event in collaboration with AMP and W&M Monarch & Milkweed Research. Free and open to the public.
