Sino-American Cultural Exchange Scholarship

The Sino-American Cultural Exchange Scholarship, sponsored by the Alliance for Global Education,  provides funding for graduate students interested in receiving a master's or doctoral degree from the internationally renowned Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE).

Eligibility

Applicants must not be Chinese nationals. In addition, applicants must have certification of HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Level 5 or an equivalent Chinese language proficiency level that can be confirmed by a professor or other instructor.

Duration

Applicants may apply for either a 2-3 year M.A. program or a 3-4 year Ph.D program.

Funding & Benefits

This scholarship will cover the recepient's full tuition, room and board on campus, and medical insurance. In addition, the scholarship provides a monthly stipend: RMB 1700 (over USD 270) for master's students and RMB 2000 (over USD 320) for doctoral students.

Application Components

The scholarship application may be found at the link provided. After completing the applications, applicants will print them out and send them, along with other required documents, by mail to SUFE. Scholarship decisions will be made on the basis of the applicants' application documents, academic performance, overall merits, research achievements and supervisors' comments. Results will be published in mid-June 2013. Scholarship awardees will be notified via email and their admission notice and visa application form (JW201) will be sent out as soon as possible.
