Women's Network sponsors first ever Women's Forum

On October 17, nearly 200 women who work at William & Mary came together for the first Women's Forum, which gave them a chance to discuss their common experiences, interests and concerns. The event was open to all women employed in various roles on campus, including administrators, teaching faculty, professional faculty and classified and hourly staff members.

The 2012 recipients of the annual William & Mary Alumni Association awards were honored at a banquet at the William & Mary Alumni House on September 27. The Coach of the Year award went to Tribe Athletics' Director of Swimming, Matt Crispino '02 and the 2012 Staff Service Award was presented to William & Mary Police Chief Don Challis.
W&M Head Field Hockey Coach Peel Hawthorne earns 300th win

W&M's field hockey team celebrated a win over Liberty and it also marked the 300th win of head coach Peel Hawthorne's '81 career. She has coached the Tribe to 269 of those with a further 31 coming in four years at Connecticut College. Hawthorne is the 13th head coach in Division I history to win 300 games, and is tied for 10th among all active coaches.

W&M Head Field Hockey Coach Peel Hawthorne Inducted Into St. Catherine's School Hall of Fame

Peel Hawthorne '80 was inducted into the St. Catherine's School Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the inaugural class of six individuals and one team. Hawthorne, a 1975 graduate of the Richmond, Virginia prep school, lettered in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse before coming to William & Mary as a student-athlete in 1976.
