PPF Policies & Issues Project

Summary

The PPFA has embarked upon a "Policies & Issues Expertise" (PIE) project to develop indepth knowledge of the personnel policies and other issues that affect professionals and professional faculty.

The PPFA's "Policies & Issues Expertise" (PIE) project is designed to help the 21 PPFA members become knowledgeable about the personnel policies and other College issues that affect professionals and professional faculty.

That knowledge will help us better evaluate existing and proposed policies; initiate improvements; contribute to college-wide committees and projects; and serve more effectively as PPFA members.

To gain this knowledge, each PPFA member has chosen an initial policy on which to work, in partnership with 1 or 2 other PPFA members.   For each policy, these small (2- or 3-member) teams learn about the W&M policy currently in place and about any proposed changes; review equivalent policies at other universities; and research options for that policy in human resources literature.  The result will be reports on each policy, with recommendations.
