W&M recognizes National Hazing Prevention Week with a hazing prevention workshop/private coaching session opportunity.
Making the Transition - A Hazing Prevention Workshop: On Sunday, October 6th from 6:30pm-8:00pm, the W&M Hazing Prevention Coalition will sponsor Dan Wrona of RISE Partnerships to facilitate a hazing prevention workshop. Leaders responsible for the new member transition experience in their organizations (Presidents, Captains, New Member Educators, etc.) will examine the goals and effectiveness of their current activities. Learn to apply a framework for critiquing the transition experience, experience a series of effective, high-energy activities, and develop options for how to improve current activities. Private One-on-One Hazing Prevention Coaching Sessions:
Dan Wrona will remain on campus on Monday and Tuesday October 7th and 8th to conduct private one-on-one consulting/coaching sessions with individuals and organizations interested in reviewing membership transition experiences. Our hazing prevention work tells us that students want a neutral place to go to get answers and help without fear of retribution and that is the coaching session that RISE Partnerships will provide. We are not concerned with punishing past occurrences—our focus is on addressing issues and fixing problems and improving membership transition experiences. This requires open and honest conversations about what is really going on. Sign up required for an individual coaching session.
Sign up to participate. Participation in the Sunday night workshop is required for a coaching session and they will be assigned on a first come, first served basis at: https://forms.wm.edu/11638
