Volunteer Opportunities

The Christopher Wren Association could not operate without its volunteers. We are run by volunteers from our membership and are pleased to welcome new ones. If you would like to help in any of the areas listed below, please fill out the Volunteer Form (pdf) on this website or in the printed catalog and mail to CWA, The College of William and Mary, P.O. Box 8795, Williamsburg,  VA  23187 or email to ChrisWren@wm.edu.

Teach

CWA is always interested in expanding its curriculum to include topics for enrichment of its members. If you are interested in teaching, CWA will send you a form asking for information about your area of expertise and other pertinent data.

Lead Activities

CWA will send you a questionnaire to describe the type of activity you would like to lead. We currently include activities ranging from practicing a foreign language to exercise.

Provide Office Support

The CWA office needs volunteers to help with general office duties such as photocopying,  answering the phone, preparing mailings, replying to emails, and data entry.

Provide Computer Technical Support

CWA needs volunteers with information technology experience such as Access 2010, Web maintenance and support using CASCADE, UNIX listserv, and other Office 2010 applications.

Assist in Classrooms

As CWA continues to grow and expand its curriculum, it has a growing need for classroom volunteers in the following areas:

  • Host. Each course has a different CWA volunteer to coordinate distribution of teaching materials and refreshments and to assist the instructor as required. Training is provided.
  • Classroom Assistant. Aides assist with storage of audiovisual equipment, adjust lighting and monitor volumnes. Training is provided.
  • Computer Class Assistant. Class assistants help the instructor with students in computer classes conducted in the William and Mary Lab.
