On the 15th day of the 8th month on the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, zhongqiujie is celebrated under a full moon. The full moon symbolizes ‘togetherness,’ and appropriately, people celebrate by reuniting with families under the moonlight. Each year Confucius Institute holds various cultural events to mark this festive holiday, and supplies moon cakes for the W&M community to enjoy.
