Confucius Institute brings Chinese cultural flair to the Homecoming Parade, one of W&M’s biggest events of the year. Students and volunteers march in the parade performing a traditional Chinese dragon dance. Spectators enjoy the sight of the legendary beast flying through Williamsburg, and kids are especially enthusiastic as the dragon rushes up to meet them. On the Homecoming Day, WMCI also holds an open house with interactive cultural demonstrations such as music, calligraphy, and paper cutting to spread interest in Chinese culture.
