Chinese Bridge Delegation for Educators
Each year, the William & Mary Confucius Institute helps coordinate the Chinese Bridge Delegation for Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters) and College Board. This is an amazing opportunity for state and school district administrators, school leaders, and other education decision-makers to take a ten-day educational trip to China. The trip will involve visits to schools and universities, cultural activites, and interactive workshops with the aim of helping education decision-makers expand their knowledge of Chinese education systems.
In 2014, the William & Mary Confucius Institute sponsored York County high school teacher Mary Flaherty-Nobile to participate in the program. Read more about her experiences here.
The College Board recently announced that this year's bridge delegation is from November 9th-18th, 2015. The priority deadline for applications is August 3rd. For more information on how to apply, visit: www.collegeboard.com/chinesebridge.
In 2016, with the support and encouragement of Hanban as well as the local Confucius Institutes of George Mason University and of the College of William & Mary, Robert Oliver traveled to China with a delegation of 20 educators from Virginia and the District of Columbia.
