    To celebrate of the 10th anniversary of Confucius Institute globbally, WCMI volunteer teacher Zhiting Liu will hold a pipa solo concert at 7 pm on Friday, Sept. 26th in Williamsburg Regional Library Theatre.

    Yue-Kiln Ceramic Music Concert on Oct.18th, 2014
    WMCI proudly presents Yue-Kiln Ceramic Music Concert on Oct.18th in Kimball Theatre. The Yue-Kiln Celadon Porcelain Music is popularly known as Ou Music (Ou refers to kitchenware such as cups, bowls, etc.). It represents a form of artistic expression and performance skill utilizing the Yue-Kiln Ou Bowl as one of the main musical instruments, and is played on regular musical instruments and utensils made from ceramic clay.

Reception with mooncakes and fruit kebabs will start at 6:30 in the Dodge room. Performance begins at 7:30 in Phi Beta Kappa Hall.

Global Confucius Institute Day at William & Mary

Come join the William & Mary Confucius Institute (WMCI) as we celebrate a decade of Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters) bringing Chinese language and culture to the United  States with special events during Fall 2014. WMCI will host a Martial Arts performance, Pipa Solo concert, language experience class, Celadon Ou music concert and much more! 

WMCI Global CI Day

The William & Mary Confucius Institute (WMCI) is charged with promoting the study of Chinese language and culture at the College and in the Central and Southeastern regions of Virginia. The WMCI was established in 2011 and dedicated in 2012, joining a network of over 300 Confucius Institutes worldwide. It is the second Confucius Institute at a public university in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The WMCI is a collaborative program in partnership with Beijing Normal University (BNU) and the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), a public institution affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education.
