Due to seating capacity, tickets for the W&M Commencement are only distributed to graduating students.
Most events during Commencement weekend are open to all family members and guests of our degree candidates, however a few events do require tickets.
Main Commencement Ceremony
Tickets are required for the main Commencement ceremony at William & Mary Hall. All graduating students who want to participate in the Academic Procession and request tickets for the main ceremony are required to register and request tickets. This is typically 4 per graduating student, depending upon the number of degree candidates. There is no charge for the student's allotment of tickets and no additional tickets are available for purchase. Commencement tickets are distributed in late April to graduating students only. Families and guests who do not receive tickets for the ceremony in William & Mary Hall may choose to view the ceremony live in one of our video streaming locations.
Departmental Ceremonies and Diploma Presentations
Tickets are usually not required for these events. Students should check with their major department to confirm whether or not there are any limits on attendance at the departmental ceremony.
