The College of William and Mary

Donna Haygood-Jackson, Ed.D. Director of Sexual Assault Services

Donna Haygood-Jackson serves as William and Mary's Director of Sexual Assault Services, coordinating the College's comprehensive response to sexual assault. Her responsibilities include overseeing William and Mary's sexual assault education and prevention programming, peer advocacy efforts, personal counseling, crisis intervention, and general resources. In addition, Donna is responsible for maintaining a consistent institutional response whenever a sexual assault is reported. As a full-time clinical psychologist in William and Mary's Counseling Center, she consults with survivors of sexual assault, students accused of sexual assault, faculty, staff, parents, and friends of both survivors and accused students. Donna was responsible for overseeing all content development for this website.

Trisha Hunsaker

Trisha Hunsaker graduated from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and English. Before becoming the College's first full-time Sexual Assault Educator in 2006, she worked for Avalon as the Volunteer and Education Coordinator, and as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Navy. As the Sexual Assault Educator, Trisha's responsibilities include advising Every 2 Minutes and the Sexual Assault Peer Advocate Program, participating in the Alliance for Sexual Assault Prevention, providing education and training on issues related to sexual assault, raising awareness through efforts such as Sexual Assault Awareness Week, and providing sexual assault resources to the college community. A certified trainer on the issues of domestic violence, sexual violence, and law enforcement response to sexual violence, Trisha was a member of the health educator team that developed the content for this site.

Sarah Irwin, MPH, CHES

Sarah Irwin graduated from the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and went on to complete a Post Baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. She then received her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she completed a certificate in Health Education and focused her program on topics related to adolescent health. Sarah is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), and she returned to William and Mary in the summer of 2006 as the College's full-time Health Educator. Her current responsibilities include advising the Health Outreach Peer Educators, organizing awareness weeks, and implementing programs such as Mental Health Screening Day. Sarah was a member of the health educator team that developed the content for this site.

Sandi Cleveland, MPH, CHES

Sandi Cleveland has worked with college students since 1999. Sandi received an MPH with a Community Health concentration as well as a BA from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Sandi coordinated William and Mary's alcohol and substance abuse prevention and education efforts from 2004 to 2007. She is also a member of the health educator team that developed the content for this site.

Virginia M. Ambler, Ph.D.

Virginia (Ginger) Ambler is the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at the College, and she has been an administrator on campus since 1991. After graduating from William and Mary with a BA degree, she earned an MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. Recently, Ginger completed her Ph.D. in Educational Planning, Policy, and Leadership from William and Mary. Her doctoral research examined the relationship between undergraduate students' involvement in the educational experience and their emotional, social, and psychological well-being. As Assistant Vice President and as a former member of the College's Sexual Assault Task Force, Ginger served as the administrative project manager for the development of this website.

This website is the winner of the "Best Microsite" in the Education category from the Internet Advertising Competition Awards given by the Web Marketing Association.
