UK TEACHING AWARDS
The UK Teaching Assistants for 2008-09 are Allison Finkelstein (LWC) and Ashley Pinney (RHC). Congratulations to both of them!
These are PAID teaching opportunities FOR GRADUATING SENIORS at Lord Wandsworth College and the Royal Hospital School.
Applications for 2008-09 positions will be due at 12 noon on April 7, 2008.
Lord Wandsworth College offers graduating seniors (male or female) from the College of William and Mary the opportunity to serve as its America Teaching Intern. Lord Wandsworth is a co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 11 to 18 set on a large, rural campus on the North Hampshire/Surrey border, slightly more than an hour from London. There are just over 500 pupils, 34% of whom are girls, and a staff pupil ratio of 1:9. Over half the pupils choose to board at the school. Successful candidates for the will be good communicators who have initiative; they must be willing to take responsibility for and be enthusiastic about working with children aged 11-13 in a co-educational boarding house. The Greenwich Hospital, a British royal charitable trust, offers a one-year paid internship for a graduating William and Mary senior (male or female) to serve as Resident Tutor at the Royal Hospital School near Ipswich, England. This independent boarding school, chartered by King William III and Queen Mary II in 1694, has 680 students between the ages of 11 and 18.
