The College of William and Mary’s Residence Life department invites energetic, motivated candidates to apply for the Area Director position. The Area Director will be responsible for the management and daily operations of a multi-facility area housing 550-700 residents and supervision of 15-30 student staff members including Resident Assistants, Head Residents, and/or a graduate Hall Director/Complex Director. Other responsibilities include community and leadership development, staff training, crisis intervention, adjudication of judicial cases, and rotating weekend on-call duty for the campus.
Professional development is encouraged and supported. Opportunities include, but are not limited to, participation on division-wide committees, advising student groups, conferences, and tuition remittance.
This 12 month live-in position includes a starting salary of $31,500, furnished office with updated technology, faculty classification, university benefits package (including life insurance, health insurance and retirement), furnished apartment (including utilities, air conditioning, washer/dryer, campus cable, local phone, high-speed internet), reserved parking, and programming resource center, library, and recreation center privileges. With the exception of dogs, pets allowed.
Qualifications: Masters Degree required; residence life and hall supervisory experience preferred.
