Welcome to Jefferson Hall, located on Jamestown Road next to Barrett Hall. Jefferson was opened in 1921 and named after the third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson. In January of 1983, a fire nearly destoryed Jefferson. It reopened in 1985. Jefferson's residents enjoy easy access to the Campus Center, the Marketplace dining facilities, and all the academic buildings on Old Campus. Located approximately 100 yards behind Jefferson Hall is the Sunken Garden. Students can often be found here playing volleyball, football, and even taking a nap between classes.
Jefferson's 188 residents reside on four smoke-free floors, and the third floor houses students in a substance-free community. The top three floors are equipped with a kitchen and two small lounges. The basement hosts the laundry room as well as a kitchen with one large lounge. The basement of Jefferson is handicap accessible.
