You will need the following at check-in:

• A photo ID.
• Hall Council Dues - dues vary from building to building but averages $25-$30 for programming in the hall. This is an optional fee used for both educational and social programming in the halls. It also is used for the purchase of vacuums, VCRs, TVs, and microwaves, and other hall improvements as determined by the Hall Council.
• Clearance from the Health Center on the Health Form, including immunizations. If you have not heard from the Health Center, you can assume you are okay.
• Patience. Our staff will do the best they can to check you in quickly, however, circumstances sometimes occur beyond their control that may slow up the process. Remember that many of our check-in days have been fairly hot so a little extra patience could make the day go more smoothly for everyone!

REMINDERS:

• A $75.00 Room Damage Deposit must be paid to the Cashier's Office by August 15th. This damage deposit is required of all resident students and is refunded within 30 days of termination of the Housing Contract, if and when the resident will not be residing in College residence during the subsequent semester and provided there are no damages to the premises and the student's college account is current. The damage deposit and RDD form should be made payable to the "College of William and Mary" and sent to: Cashier's Office, P.O. Box 8795, Williamsburg, VA 23187-8795. Since this is a deposit, a charge will not show up on your semester bill.
• If you will be in the Williamsburg area at any time before August 21st, the ID Office (Campus Center 169) invites you to stop by and have your William and Mary ID made. This could potentially eliminate long lines for you on August 22nd!

Early Arrivals

Individuals who need to arrive early may find it beneficial to make arrangements with the Williamsburg Hotel/Motel Association for accommodations (1-800-999-4485) or visit their web site at www.williamsburghotel.com. Sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate early arrivals!

Insurance
The College does not carry insurance which will cover losses you might incur from fire, theft or other casualty. We encourage you to consider a personal property insurance plan or renter’s insurance if you are not sufficiently covered under another insurance policy.
