Douglas A. Hartwick

Mr. Hartwick earned a B.A. degree from the College of William and Mary and graduate degrees from Stanford University, Washington State University and the National War College.

Mr. Douglas Alan Hartwick assumed his duties as International Affairs Advisor to the Commandant, Industrial College of the Armed Forces in July 2005.  He most recently served as the State Department's Senior Coordinator of the Tsunami Reconstruction Task Force January – July 2005.   Mr. Hartwick was the American Ambassador to the Lao Peoples' Democratic Republic from 2001 to 2004. He currently serves as resident director for India for Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Ambassador Hartwick is a career member of the senior Foreign Service, Class of Minister-Counselor. His primary areas of specialization have been economic and Asian affairs. He has been awarded the State Department’s Senior Performance Pay awards in 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2004, Superior Honor Awards in 1983, 1985, and 1989, and the Meritorious Honor Award in 1997.
