Marilyn K. Gowing

Dr. Gowing is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and a Distinguished Alumna of The George Washington University where she received her Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Dr. Gowing is currently Senior Vice President and Director of the Washington, D. C. Office of Morris & McDaniel, Inc., Management Consultants. She was previously the Federal Government Practice Leader for Aon Consulting, a 1.5 billion dollar human capital consulting firm.

Dr. Gowing was a member of the Senior Executive Service for the U. S. Office of Personnel Management where she directed the Personnel Resources and Development Center . In this capacity, she served as the Chief Industrial and Organizational Psychologist in the Federal Government responsible for the Federal testing program.

Dr. Gowing's publications include two books, Taxonomies of Human Performance (with Edwin A. Fleishman) and The New Organizational Reality: Downsizing, Restructuring and Revitalization (with John Kraft and James Campbell Quick), several book chapters and many professional journal articles. In 2004, Dr. Gowing received the G. W. U. Alumni Service Award. She currently serves as Development Committee Chair of the Board of Advisors for the Jefferson Program in Public Policy.
