Dear student,

Find below the Psychology Department’s practice regarding requests for course instructor overrides, and requests to be placed on waiting lists.

Before the registration period begins

  • the psychology department does not provide any instructor override because a course “may” fill up
  • no waiting list will be maintained before the registration period begins

 

During the registration period

  • as above, the psychology department does not provide any instructor override because a course is full, during the active registration period before classes start
  • no waiting list will be maintained until the first day of classes

When can I ask for an override?
When can I ask to be placed on a waiting list?

You can ask for instructor override, or ask to be placed on a waiting list on the first day of classes, if the class is formally full according to Banner.

Asking before the first day of classes, or asking before the course is formally full, will not change your priority nor produce a response from instructors.
 
 

Whether overrides will be provided or whether a waiting list will be maintained on the first day of classes is determined by instructors of individual courses.  But the departmental practice for all courses is indicated above.
