The quality of its people is William and Mary's most important and highly valued resource. The College is fortunate to have a faculty dedicated to teaching, scholarship and service, a skilled staff devoted to the mission of the institution, and highly talented and motivated students. The Committee views "investment in people" as one of the most important themes of this Plan and has framed its recommendations accordingly. The Committee also recognizes that a major challenge of the next five years will be to increase the diversity of all sectors of the campus community, a goal that can only be accomplished through a shared commitment and effort.
