Student Insurance ID Card

The William & Mary-sponsored Student Insurance Plan is a fully insured PPO plan underwritten by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company. Each policy year a UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (UHCSR) identification/ID card is generated, but due to our "Go Green" efforts ID cards are no longer automatically mailed out to insured students following enrollment. Instead, the student is sent an email notifying them when the digital ID card is available for download from their My Account, UHCSR's online self-service tool providing secure access to insurance information online 24/7/365.

How Do I Get My Insurance ID Card? How to Video

Students must either create or login to My Account to view or print an ID card. Insured student are also advised to request a permanent ID card be mailed. The permanent ID card is a double-sided, laminated ID card that is more durable than ID cards printed from home. The permanent ID card is sent to the Mailing Address on file with UHCSR and usually arrives within 7-10 business days through regular postal mail. If you do not receive an email about your enrollment and insurance ID cards, you should contact the [[student.insurance, Student Insurance Coordinator]] by email or phone at (757) 221-2978 for assistance.

You should carry your ID card with you at all times. Please present your UHCSR student health insurance ID card each time you receive medical services to ensure proper eligibility verification and claims processing. Medical services include visits to physicians, hospitals, laboratories and other medical facilities, including the Student Health Center, as well as visits to mental health providers and pharmacy services. Please be sure that the provider includes your unique 7-digit StudentResources ID number (SRID) printed on the front of your card when submitting claims or making inquiries regarding your eligibility. You should point out to providers that ALL inquiries regarding coverage, copays and claims MUST be directed to UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (UHCSR), which is a stand-alone division of UHC. The UHCSR Customer Service toll-free number is listed on the front of your ID card and the claims mailing address is listed on the back of your ID card.
