Policies & Procedures

Policies

Conduct that meets the federal regulation definitions of Title IX Sexual Harassment are defined in the Title IX Policy, while discrimination and sexual misconduct that violates university standards of conduct and civility in the workplace are defined in the Discrimination Policy. Both policies may be considered when alleged conduct is reported to be violated.

Procedures

Reports of sex-based discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual misconduct are processed under one of two procedures. The procedure used is determined by the identity of the person(s) accused of misconduct, the respondent, and whether that individual is a student or an employee. The identity of the respondent is important because grievance/complaint procedures may lead to disciplinary action, and the university's relationship with the respondent determines the nature of and process for discipline.
