In 2006 the Technology and Business Center, with the support of the Office of the Vice Provost, launched a program to encourage faculty to become engaged with small technology companies in research and consulting. The program funds initial exploratory research to help define company needs and link them with faculty, primarily in the School of Business, who have the appropriate skills. The initial research can lead to larger and longer engagements funded by the company. The program has been very successful and we have received strong letters of support from the companies (pdf) who have pursued this opportunity.
