Health Outreach Peer Educators (HOPE)

Purpose: To provide our college community with up-to-date and reliable health information. Members present programs, conduct awareness campaigns, and sponsor health related events in the areas of Mental Health, Sexual Health, and Substance Abuse. Peer education is a great way for students to get involved on campus and gain valuable experience.

Purpose: The purpose of the Her Campus William & Mary organization is to provide an online hub for William & Mary’s women by providing content that is both a resource and a source of entertainment, highlighting campus news, events, interesting students, faculty, alumni, campus photos, and fashion and lifestyle content specifically tailored for women at William & Mary. Staff members will gain journalism, marketing, publicity, and digital media experience, and all students at Her Campus William & Mary will gain a new and fun online resource through this online publication.

Hindu, Sikh, and Jain Students Association
Interest Group
Purpose: An organization for members of the Hindu faith and anyone else who is interested in learning more. Hindu Students Association (HSA) is an organization that focuses on bringing Hindu culture and traditions to the college campus through Diwali, Holi, and many other events and activities.

Historic European Martial Arts Club: Griffin Fechtschule

Purpose: This organization aims to teach the martial practices of medieval-renaissance europe through the study of period texts and their modern interpretations. The Griffin Fechtschule will blend history and athletics to recreate authentic period combat focusing primarily on the German and Italian schools of longsword, dagger, grappling, and single-sword, and staff. We will also briefly look at some other Wester martial arts including Greek pankration, 18th century small sword, and British Bartitsu.

History Graduate Student Association

Purpose: Encourages professionalism among history graduate students by providing a forum for the presentation of scholarly work, by sponsoring speakers and by promoting good relations between students and faculty.

Howard J. Busbee Finance Academy

Purpose: The Howard J. Busbee Finance Academy's main goal is to act as a liaison between students, faculty, and alumni for the betterment of undergraduates pursuing business careers, with a focus on financial services. The 8-10 officers of the Finance Academy are mentors and resources to the larger group of 150+ students involved in the organization. The Finance Academy's flagship event is From DoG Street to Wall Street, and it is held every fall, generally at the end of August. Other events are held throughout the year and focus on creating learning and networking opportunities for members.
