Apply for the Fall 2014 Student Leadership Foundation

Full Description

We believe that student leadership development is a cornerstone in supporting our students to become engaged citizens.  Student leadership involves cultivating a frame of mind for exploring self, others and community.  Leaders develop a skill set to adapt to change, craft creative solutions, and seize opportunities. Leaders are moved by what they care about to make the world a better place.  We hope these two programs offer opportunities for individual students to explore their own leadership development.

SLF Application - due May 9th

Student Leadership Foundation: The Student Leadership Foundation (SLF) is a weekly co-curricular leadership development program for freshman and sophomore leaders on campus that will be held during the Fall 2014 semester. The program accepts approximately 20 participants from an extensive applicant pool.  SLF is an exciting and dynamic experience designed to further develop your leadership skills as well as assist you in building a strong relationship network with other student leaders at William and Mary. SLF sessions will focus on topics to improve both the capacity and efficacy of W&M students to be engaged in positive change.  Participants in SLF will engage in “The SLF Project” which is an individual blueprint for forwarding positive change in an organization, cause or initiative of interest to you.  In addition, each participant in SLF will be provided the opportunity to work with a volunteer mentor invested in supporting your leadership experience on campus.  SLF will meet weekly on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30pm during the Fall semester (for 9 sessions).
