Workshop Format

Typical ACES Preparatory Workshop Schedule

The Role Delineation Study serves as the "blueprint" of the BOC Exam. The 6th Edition of the Role Delineation Study is in effect for the April 2011 exam and beyond. The Mock Exams of the ACES Preparatory Workshops are designed with the same ratio of questions as the Role Delineation Study to give participants the most accurate evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses.

Day One (5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.)
  • Registration
  • Introduction: Review of Goals and Objectives
  • Lecture:
    • Understanding the testing process, question selection, and the BOC Role Delineation Study
    • Test taking strategies - Written Exam
  • Take Mock Written Exam A
  • Help Session:  Resource library
Day Two (8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.)
  • Morning Session (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
    • Review of Mock Written Exam A, with reference to specific tasks within the BOC Role Delineation Study
  • Lunch provided on site (12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.)
  • Afternoon Session (1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
    • Lecture:  Test taking strategies - Alternative question types
    • Take Mock Written Exam B
Day Three (8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
  • Preparing for the Exam
    • The Application Process
    • Testing Accommodations for Persons with disabilities
    • Delaying with "The Day"
    • Review Mock Written Exam B Results
    • Development of Individualized Plan of Action
    • Focus on Specific Needs
  • Identify Study Aids and Resources
  • Wrap-up and Evaluation
