Animal Bite Reporting

According to IACUC procedure, animal bites are to be reported immediately to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, the Environment, Health & Safety Office and the appropriate PI and or supervisor.

The procedure is as follows:

1) Control bleeding

2) Cleanse wound

3) Bandage

4) Report Bite, or incident (other than a bite), within 24 hours of incident by using the form on the Environmental Health and Safety
website.
5) If necessary, procure medical follow up

Student workers should go to the Student Health Center
Staff/Faculty should go to a panel physician approved by Worker's Compensation
