Hixon Family Endowed Scholarship: Through a generous and groundbreaking gift from the Hixon Family, W&M's outstanding undergraduate education is now accessible to international students who otherwise would not have the means to attend W&M. These funds specifically support students who are resident of African countries. The scholarship comes in two parts:
- Full undergraduate study scholarship: A need based scholarship to fully fund a student for all four years of his/her undergraduate study (tuition and fees plus living expenses – room, meals, health insurance, books, travel expenses).
- Enrichment funds: A fund to support special educational opportunities such as summer classes, internship, and study abroad for undergraduate and graduate students.
Full Undergraduate Study Scholarship: Students who wish to be considered for the full undergraduate study scholarship should apply under the standard admission process for admission to W&M. After the admission deadline, they will be sent an application form to complete to assess their level of financial need. Announcement of scholarship decisions will be made with the offer of admission. The admissions deadlines are as follows:
- January 1, 2018 for undergraduate freshmen admission
- March 1, 2018 for undergraduate transfer student admission (students who began undergraduate study in the US or abroad and will complete their bachelor’s degree at W&M)
Enrichment Fund: Students who wish to be considered for funding from the Enrichment Funds should apply through iStart under the International Student Opportunity Fund.
