Emily supports international students and scholars and their families in the College community by advising them on F-1 and J-1 immigration matters and advocating for them with internal and external stakeholders. She views immigration advising as a tool to allow students and scholars to make informed decisions about their lives, and strives to offer nuanced, accurate advising.
Prior to joining the Reves Center in 2009, Emily was a teacher in the Midwest. Emily holds a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a M.S. in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University, and has studied in the UK and Mexico.
