In order to be eligible to reside in the Graduate Complex during summer 2014, the individual must be enrolled in summer courses or credit-bearing activity that is conducted over the summer, OR have been enrolled at W & M in the prior Spring Semester (2014), OR will be enrolled in the upcoming Fall Semester (2014).

If I want to stay in the Graduate Complex after Noon on May 12, 2014, what do I do?
You must fill out an application for summer graduate housing.
If I want to arrive to graduate housing for the fall before August 9, 2014, what do I do?
The Graduate Complex officially opens for check-in on Saturday, August 9, 2014. If you want to move-in before this time, you must fill out a summer housing application. Early arrivals are not guaranteed and are based on whether your apartment is ready for occupancy.
I'm a current resident, can I stay in my current apartment?
That depends. Residents on an academic year and summer contracts will be able to stay in their current apartment. Current residents on an academic year only contract who apply by the priority deadline of April 7 should be able to remain in their current apartment. For both of these situations, the only reason you may be temporarily assigned to another apartment is if Facilities Management needs to complete major maintenance work in the apartment.
Current residents who apply for summer housing after April 7 may or may not be able to remain in their current apartment. New and incoming resident assignments, as well as room change assignments, are made in the days immediately following the April 7 deadline. It is possible that an incoming student will be assigned to your current apartment. If this occurs, you will receive a new housing assignment for the summer.
For this reason, if there is ANY chance that you would like to stay in your apartment for any period of time after May 12th at noon (when the Gradplex officially closes), you should apply for summer housing by April 7. Filling out a summer application does not bind you to accepting a summer housing offer, but it does hold your apartment so we do not immediately assign an incoming student. You can decline your summer housing offer at a later date before you sign a contract if your plans change.
An upgrade to the fire safety system in building 500 is being planned for the summer of 2014 requiring the building to be offline and unoccupied from 5:00 PM on May 12 through August when the residences open for the fall semester. Because work of this nature can be disruptive and noisy to varying degrees, we want you to be informed of the situation prior to making decisions about your summer living arrangements. Residents vacating apartments in building 500 will be required to be completely out of these buildings no later than 5:00 PM on May 12. Regrettably, we will not be able to accommodate late departures given the tight time frame we have to complete the work in time for fall occupancy. If you are a resident of building 500 and are a 12 month resident or will be remaining in housing over the summer, we will work with you to assign you to another apartment within the Complex.
Work is presently planned to take place between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday with noisy work not commencing until 8:00 AM. Work may also be scheduled on Sundays. If it is necessary to alter this schedule, we will notify all residents. We realize that this work will be an inconvenience but it is necessary.
