Welcome to Giles, Pleasants and Preston Halls in the Randolph Complex! The Randolph Complex is located on Ukrop Way across from the Caf and is home to many Language Houses. Situated on New Campus, residents have easy access to William and Mary Hall, the Rec. Center, Busch Field, and Swem. At the center of the Randolph Complex is Tazewell Hall which houses vending machines, two study lounges, a laundry room and the duty office. Residents in the Randolph Complex have access to Tazewell Hall 24 hours a day. Tazewell is a popular location for events and activities sponsored by many groups on campus. Residents can also be found enjoying the picnic/grill area in the center of the Complex. Tazewell Hall was named after Littleton Waller Tazewell, a college alum, Virginia Governor and U.S. Senator.


Giles Hall

Welcome to Giles Hall! The German, Hispanic and French Houses call Giles home and offer residents the chance to live with people who share similar interest in a specific culture. A Language House Tutor lives in the community giving residents ample opportunity to practice conversation in a particular language. Residents enjoy a spacious living room and kitchen as well as four bathrooms per floor. Students interested in living in one of the Language Houses may apply through the Modern Languages Department (757-221-3634) or link to the Special Interest Housing section of the website. Giles Hall was named after former Governor William B. Giles (1827-1830).

A Language House Tutor lives in the Italian and Russian house giving residents’ ample opportunity to practice conversation in a particular language. Residents enjoy a spacious living room and kitchen as well as four bathrooms per floor. Pleasants Hall was named after former Governor James Pleasants (1822-1825).
