DuPont Hall
Welcome to DuPont Hall! DuPont is the largest of the first-year halls and is located near the New Campus academic buildings, close to the Recreational Center and the Dining Commons (the "Caf"). Two hundred and sixty-four first-year residents live in double suites on three floors. Residents in two rooms share one bathroom. Each wing on the floor is single gender with an upper level Resident Assistant. Each floor has two lounges which are often designated as social or study lounges by the Hall Council. Each floor lounge has a small kitchenette. The center of life in DuPont is the main foyer, called "The Pit." At the center of the Pit is a large fireplace along with various recreational amenities including ping pong and air hockey tables. The laundry rooms are located on the 2nd floor and a large full size kitchen is available in the basement. DuPont Hall opened in 1964 and was named after Jessie Ball duPont, benefactress of the College and daughter of Thomas Ball, an alumnus.
