Mosaic House

Mosaic House is a co-curricular, co-educational residential house located in Hardy. Students in Mosaic House are involved in on-going intellectual exchange about culture, diversity, interracial community, and sexuality.

Mosaic House provides a supportive space for students who wish to expand their cross-cultural understanding. Students who live in Mosaic House have a private node of rooms and their own lounge. They organize their own events that serve both their own members and the broader W&M community.

Program Eligibility and Requirements

Rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors from any discipline are eligible. To be considered for Mosaic House, students must be in good academic standing. They must already have taken at least one course on diversity issues prior to moving into Mosaic House, and they must take one additional course during their first year in Mosaic House to be considered for readmission.

Courses, from across the curriculum, may address race and ethnicity, gender, sex and sexuality, cultural diversity (including immigrant issues in the U.S. or elsewhere in the world), and religious diversity. Mosaic residents also are expected to help organize and participate in activities organized by Mosaic House during their year(s) of residence, and to serve on at least one Mosaic House committee each academic year. A record of Mosaic House committee service and Mosaic House activity participation is also required for readmission to Mosaic House.

Monday, February 5, 2024	Students notified of their acceptance into the Mosaic House.
Friday, February 9, 2024	Deadline for students to accept invitations to join Mosaic House (by email to the Mosaic House Coordinator)
Tuesday, February 13, 2024	Due date for all students to submit an Academic Year Housing Application & Contract on-line to participate in room selection by 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, February 20, 2024	On-Line Room Selection begins for Mosaic House at 9:00 a.m.
