Colonial Williamsburg House
The College and Colonial Williamsburg have agreed to offer a housing option for two rising seniors in the Historic Area each year. The house currently leased is called the William Randolph Lodging and is located at 406 E. Nicholson Street - just one block over from Duke of Gloucester Street. Click here to see pictures of the house. A pair of students who will represent the College well, and whose presence in the historic area will help further the relationship which William and Mary has with our neighbors in Colonial Williamsburg will be selected each year. Only two students may live in the residence and each applicant must be a rising senior. Candidates should apply as prospective roommate pairs, and should submit all application materials in order to be considered for this unique opportunity. Mosaic House
Mosaic House is a co-curricular, co-educational residential house -- a special interest living option for William & Mary undergraduates. It is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and is housed in Jamestown North.
Students in Mosaic House are involved in on-going intellectual exchange about culture, diversity, interracial community, and sexuality. Mosaic House provides a supportive space for students at the intersection of the campus's growing diversification and also welcomes students who wish to expand their cross-cultural understanding. Students who live in Mosaic House have a private node of rooms and their own lounge, and organize their own events -- film series, speakers, book groups, diversity workshops, cultural fairs, and more. Programs serve Mosaic House members and the broader W&M community.
Program Eligibility and Requirements
Rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors from any discipline are eligible. To be considered for Mosaic House, students must be in good academic standing; they must have already taken at least one course on diversity issues prior to moving into the dorm, and they must take one additional course during their first year in the dorm to be considered for readmission.* Mosaic residents are also expected to help organize and participate in cultural or activist events organized by Mosaic House during their year(s) of residence, and to serve on two or more House committees (a strong record of service and participation is also required for readmission). The Mosaic House Coordinators select all program participants.
*Courses, from across the curriculum, may address race and ethnicity, gender, sex and sexuality, cultural diversity (including immigrant issues in the U.S. or elsewhere in the world), and religious diversity. The most relevant courses will define culture as a dialogue rather than as a normative center.
Important Deadlines
- Submit completed application by Wednesday, January 25, 2010
- Submit $200 Room Reservation Deposit to the Bursar by Friday, February 19, 2010

Reves Hall
Reves Hall is William & Mary's own "Global Village," housing international students and domestic students with an interest in international affairs. For students eager to learn about global and international issues and interested in cross-cultural exchange, Reves Hall offers internationally-focused programs and interaction with students from all over the world.
Reves Hall programs and activities include:
- Reves Coffee Hour, a speaker series with informal discussions between students, professors, and other guest speakers on global affairs;
- International potluck dinners;
- Seasonal activities: pumpkin carving party, holiday festivities, New Year's Around the Globe;
- Co-sponsored activities with other groups: Salsa Night with the Hispanic Cultural Organization, an international careers networking social with the Career Center, etc.
Located adjacent to the Wendy and Emery Reves Center for International Affairs, Reves is an exciting, dynamic, and interactive place to live and learn. With 50 students on three floors, it is small enough to foster a sense of community, and its location gives residents easy access to the Marketplace dining facilities in the Campus Center, the College Bookstore, and Colonial Williamsburg. Students can choose from air-conditioned singles, doubles, or triples as living options; laundry and kitchen facilities are available on each floor. The first floor of Reves is handicap accessible.
French writer Marcel Proust wrote, "The voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands, but in seeing with new eyes." See your world through new eyes by joining the Reves Hall community!

Sharpe Community Partnership Program
The Sharpe Community Partnership Program is a residential initiative that extends William and Mary's long-held tradition of public and community service. Nurturing both responsible citizenship and energetic involvement in the community is part of the College's mission. In the spirit of our mission and traditions, students who participate will live in Sharpe program residences, enroll in program-sponsored seminars, take part in public forums and work together on community projects - all as a way of encouraging freshmen to explore issues in our national life and become directly involved in these issues through public service.
Substance-Free Housing
The College offers the third floor of Jefferson Hall as a substance-free floor. Residents living on this floor agree that they, and their guests, will refrain from smoking, using any tobacco product, or consuming any alcoholic beverages at any time they are physically present on the floor, including in private residence rooms.
Alcohol is not permitted in any individual room in a freshman residence hall unless one of the residents is at least 21 years of age and the alcohol belongs to that resident. Further, alcohol is not permitted in the public areas of freshman residences nor may functions with alcohol be scheduled in freshman residence halls.
