Barrett Hall
Welcome to Barrett Hall! Nestled in the middle of Old Campus, Barrett is close to academic buildings located on Old and New Campus, as well as the Sadler Center, the Campus Center, Barksdale Field and Colonial Williamsburg. One hundred and seventy-six freshmen reside in Barrett. The building consists of three floors divided into two wings with approximately 30 residents per wing in doubles and triples. On each wing lives an upper-level Resident Assistant. The large portico in the back of the building provides a great location for hall and building events and activities. The first floor hosts two large lounges where residents are often found studying, talking or watching television. A computer lab is also located in the building. Barrett Hall opened in 1927 and was named after prominent Virginia civic leader Dr. Kate Waller Barrett. She was also the second woman to serve as a member of the College's Board of Visitors.
